About us
Anoor brings people from Algeria and Germany together through education, culture and friendship in and around Darmstadt.
Who we are
The Deutsch-Algerischer Kultur- und Freundschaftsverein Anoor e.V. (German-Algerian Cultural and Friendship Association) is based in Darmstadt. It was founded on February 15, 2026 and is registered with the Amtsgericht Darmstadt under VR 85225. Our name Anoor, النور in Arabic, means “the light”.
What we stand for
We promote education, culture and understanding between Germany and Algeria. We share the history, culture and traditions of Algeria, invite dialogue between cultures, and support families with education, upbringing and integration.
How we work
Open to everyone: anyone who shares our aims can become a member.
Members decide: the general meeting elects the board and decides on the Satzung.
The board runs day-to-day business and is elected for two years.
Not for profit: our funds serve only the purposes in the Satzung, and members receive no payments from them.
Politically independent: we serve no party.
